What does the beginning of your day look like? Calm?

Empowering Your Morning With A Ritual Sets The Tone For Your Day

True of false? What does the beginning of your day look like? How do you spend the first 30 to 90 minutes of your morning?

Those first things you do in the morning sets your tone for the day. A morning ritual, or routine if you prefer, can set you up to feel more empowered, grounded and calm.

Research shows that habits, like creating a morning ritual, set you up to handle whatever your day throws at you. So, instead of reacting to things that happen to you throughout the day, a morning routine helps you shift from being easily triggered to being proactive and calmly responding. Adding a mindfulness practice, such as journalling, breathing exercises or meditation helps calm stress and anxiety and are great ways to fill your cup before you start your busy day.

You can even think about habits you want to remove from your morning routine, such as checking your phone and jumping on social media as soon as you wake up.

Intrigued and want to create a morning ritual, or routine? Here are a few suggestions to get you started thinking about how you can start your morning in a positive, energized way.

How to integrate morning rituals into your day:

It’s important that you enjoy the process. If you are too busy to do each part of your ritual each day, be compassionate with yourself and practice self-forgiveness. Do what you can, with the time you have. Eg, if you have 20 minutes free go for a walk or journal to reset and energize yourself. Feeling good is your goal, not beating yourself up again for another thing you haven’t completed! Cut yourself some slack. Ideally, feel like your ritual is easy and enjoyable, and not feel like something that
needs to be got through with gritted teeth!

Having an intentional morning ritual, whatever that looks like for you, will help you become the woman you want to be, feel
empowered, and reach your goals.

Use one or more of these morning rituals to feel more confident:

  1. Drink a glass of water. Overnight, our bodies go eight hours without hydration! Start your morning by waking up your senses and rehydrating with a glass of water.
  2. Meditate 10 -15 mins in the morning (& at night for bonus inner peace!)
  3. Journal. Journaling helps you get your thoughts onto paper and set goals. It can help you reflect on the past, appreciate the present, and decide how you want the future to look. Use these prompts to guide your journaling:

● How did yesterday feel for you?
● Set your intention for this new day.
● Reflect on what you are grateful for.

  1. Movement. One of the best things you can integrate into your morning routine is movement. Going for a walk or hitting the gym can wake you up and give you energy. The movement will also help release mood-boosting endorphins!
  2. Read. Self help or fiction it doesn’t matter. It’s about focusing your attention & intention on you. Filling you up so you feel calm, happy & relaxed to deal with whatever life throws your way.

Life can be unpredictable and, no doubt, you’ll have other responsibilities. Avoid giving yourself unnecessary pressure to complete your morning routine each day. It’s not a tick-box exercise that you feel you have to do, the idea is to spend a little time filling yourself up with some rituals that are life enhancing and that you absolutely love to do.

Your morning ritual can be fun. This is your time to reflect, energize and reset before your busy day restarts. It’s your gift to yourself! So fill your cup and enjoy creating a morning ritual that you love .

Take good care of yourself until the next time we meet.

About Me

Hello, I’m Tracey. 😀 I’m so happy that you’ve dropped in. My intention for setting up Stress & Anxiety Sol-YOU-tion, is to remind YOU that you CAN reclaim all the joy that anxiety & stress suck out of your life. As a 2 X breast cancer survivor, I can wholeheartedly say that the techniques I share here really do work…provided they are regularly used. Yes, sorry about that… there is no- magic-quick-fix. It takes patience, practice and self acceptance.

This site is all about real life application of m&m, mindfulness & meditation practices, so you can find relief from stress & anxiety. These two run hand-in-hand causing chaos and wrecking your inner peace.

So come with me, my new friend. We are going on a journey together: a journey that takes us out of cycling, fear based thought patterns and into the peace of the moment. Moment by moment. Breath by breath.

Here’s to your peace of mind.
